Fishing is as old as humanity itself. The sea has been the inspiration for many books: From Herman Melville’s ‘Moby Dick’ to Earnest Hemmingway’s ‘Old Man and the Sea’. Literature abounds with works that speak of the relationship that we humans have with the ocean. In addition to being mentally calming, fishing has many health benefits :

  1. It helps boost the immune and cardiovascular system:
On our fishing trips you will spend time in the sun, which is a good source of vitamin D, excellent for helping the immune system. The fresh sea air and the physical efforts that fishing involves will also help to improve your breathing and aid cardiovascular health!
  2. Promotes relaxation:
There is nothing like moments of calm and serenity with nature to empty and recharge your brain. The calming effects of the sea on the mind and general wellbeing are well known and contributes to your relaxation it can also act against depression, fatigue and other ailments.
The reason sea air is so healthy is that it contains tiny droplets of sea water enriched with salt, iodine, magnesium and trace elements, which are scattered into the air by the wind and the waves… and it’s all free.
  3. Develops patience:
Make an effort to leave behind your touch screen tablets and phones for half a day. In a world where everything goes so fast, fishing will help you feel that nature has its own timing.
You can often wait a long time to catch a fish, sometimes for hours, it teaches you calmness, patience and perseverance.
  4. Cultivates self-sufficiency:
If you are going to become a regular fisherman, you will have to learn how to prepare your fishing equipment, look for the most popular spots to fish, and maybe even learn rowing or how to ‘pilot’ a small fishing boat. Fishing is also a good way to learn independence. What greater pleasure is there, than the one you will have, which is cooking the fish that you have caught by yourself and sharing the meal with your friends.
    5- Everyone can do it!
You do not need to have great physical strength or any ‘sporting’ skills. The pleasures of fishing can be enjoyed by young and old. One of the benefits is the enjoyment of sharing fishing trips with friends and family.
